Lucia May is a violinist, poet and long-time arts advocate who lives in St. Paul, MN. She has published widely, most notably her book, Blond Boy, published in 2014, a family memoir depicting her father’s life in Nazi Labor Camps, published by Evening Street Press and a finalist for its Helen Kay Chapbook Prize. Her work has appeared in Main Channel Voices, Hot Metal Press, Paperdarts, the Prose-Poem Project, Pemmican, Still Point Arts Quarterly, The Talking Stick, Tall Grass, the Evening Street Review, Burnt Bridge, The Awakenings Review, The Mom Egg, Verse Wisconsin, and the Little Red Tree International Poetry Prize 2010: Anthology. She is a contributor to The Widow’s Handbook Anthology: Reflections on Grief and Survival. She has earned awards and honors, including finalist in the Winning Writers’ War Poetry Contest 2009, semi-finalist in New Millennium Writings 2010 and an honorable mention in the Poetry Society of New Hampshire National Contest. She was a Pushcart Prize nominee from Verse Wisconsin in 2013.  She was offered a chapbook publication and the Starting Gate Award from Finishing Line Press.
